Imam Tahawi (رحمة الله عليه)

Ash Shaikh Mir Asedullah Quadri

Imam Tahawi was an Egyptian Arab Hanafi Jurist and Hadith scholar. His treatise on Islamic belief, titled Al-Aqida al-Tahawiyya (العقيدة الطحاوية) is the most popular work of Sunni Muslim doctrine. Both Tahawi and Maturidi followed Imam Abu Hanifa in the position of belief, which is conviction in the heart and affirmation by the tongue, without adding ‘practice by limbs.’ This book provides a brief biography of Imam Tahawi.
